Technical Assistance to Professionals
Through the CBS’ technical assistance component, agencies, both public and private, are able to access the following:In-depth training on benefit and housing programs, which incorporates an experiential, hands-on approach in how to effectively access benefits for clients practical advocacy tips on how to navigate the benefit system when it does not operate as it should.
A user-friendly print and online version of a Benefits Resource Manual that provides:
- the most up-to-date information on public benefit programs and housing resources, including: available benefits, program structure, eligibility requirements, and application/recertification procedures,
- information on how benefits coordinate with one another and which program will be the most advantageous for a client,
- tools to assist providers in accessing benefits,
- advocacy strategies so an individual knows what to do when a client experiences common challenges within the system,
- referrals to additional resources for finding the help clients need.
Consultation services from an experienced team of professionals who provide advice on eligibility, how to access benefits, client rights, clarification of policy and strategic advocacy information for both public benefits and housing programs.
Consumer benefit brochures in Q & A format to help families and individuals understand how government benefit program works and how to apply, as well as brochures on to navigate the public housing system.
Benefit eligibility charts, government resources, and links to application for government benefit programs.
